Role Summary

We are seeking a technically proficient and proactive IT Operations professional to support and manage the firm’s end-to-end IT infrastructure and user support ecosystem. The incumbent will work across helpdesk operations, network and server administration, systems management, and IT security — ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance of technology systems that enable the firm’s legal and business functions across all offices.

Key Responsibilities

Helpdesk & End-User Support

• Serve as a key point of contact for IT helpdesk queries — troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, connectivity, and application issues for end users across all offices.

• Manage IT service requests and incidents via ticketing systems, ensuring timely resolution within defined SLAs.

• Set up, configure, and maintain end-user devices including laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.

• Provide onboarding IT support — provisioning systems, email accounts, and access credentials for new joiners.

• Maintain an updated asset inventory of all IT hardware and software across offices.

Infrastructure & Network Management

• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and firewall infrastructure across all firm locations.

• Manage network devices including routers, switches, access points, and firewalls — ensuring uptime and performance.

• Coordinate with ISPs and telecom vendors for leased line management, escalations, and resolution of connectivity issues.

• Support the implementation of network upgrades, office relocations, and infrastructure expansion projects.

• Ensure network security best practices — including patch management, access controls, and traffic monitoring.

Systems & Server Administration

• Administer and maintain Windows and Linux servers — including installation, configuration, patching, and performance monitoring.

• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and user access management across the firm.

• Oversee backup and disaster recovery processes — schedule, test, and document data backups to ensure business continuity.

• Manage virtualisation environments (VMware / Hyper-V) and ensure optimal performance of virtual machines.

• Monitor system health and capacity and proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they impact operations.

IT Security & Compliance

• Implement and enforce IT security policies including antivirus management, endpoint protection, and data loss prevention (DLP).

• Support IT audits, vulnerability assessments, and compliance reviews in line with the firm’s information security standards.

• Manage user access rights and role-based access controls (RBAC) to ensure data confidentiality and integrity.

• Monitor and respond to security alerts, incidents, and breaches in a timely and structured manner.

Vendor Management & Project Support

• Liaise with IT vendors and service providers for procurement, AMC renewals, and technical support escalations.

• Support IT project rollouts including system upgrades, new software deployments, and office infrastructure setups.

• Maintain accurate IT documentation — SOPs, network diagrams, configuration records, and incident logs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified (MCSA / MD-102), CCNA, or equivalent are preferred.

Experience:

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in IT operations, systems administration, or IT support, preferably in a professional service, legal, BFSI, or large corporate environment.

• Demonstrated experience managing multi-location of IT infrastructure and supporting 500+ end users.

• Prior experience working in a law firm or knowledge-intensive organisation is an advantage.

Technical Skills:

• Strong proficiency in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.

• Hands-on experience with network administration — routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, and Wi-Fi (Cisco / Fortinet / Meraki preferred).

• Working knowledge of virtualisation platforms — VMware vSphere / Microsoft Hyper-V.

• Familiarity with Office 365 / Microsoft 365 administration including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Azure AD.

• Experience with backup solutions (Veeam, Acronis, or equivalent) and ITSM / ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Freshservice, or equivalent).

• Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell / Bash) for automation and administration tasks is desirable.

• Understanding IT security frameworks, endpoint protection tools, and DLP solutions.

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently under pressure.

• Excellent communication skills — able to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

• High level of ownership, reliability, and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

• Team player with a collaborative mindset and willingness to support colleagues across offices.
